Since our founding in 2012, Invisible Ink Editing’s mission has been to help authors of any background and experience level find their voice and get published.
But our business is one part of the large English-language publishing and editing institution—an institution that historically has suppressed the voices of authors from certain backgrounds: BIPOC writers, LGBTQI+ authors, writers with disabilities, women authors, and writers with stories centralized outside of global-minority countries.
Invisible Ink Editing is taking action to change the role we play in this larger system. We aim to make it easier for authors from diverse backgrounds to receive high-quality editing services and have their stories shared with the world.
As our business continues to grow, we will add more editors and support staff to our team. During our recruitment process, we will actively seek candidates who bring varied and unique perspectives and experiences to our business.
If you are an experienced editor and would like more information about joining our team, send an email to Liam@invisibleinkediting.com.
Invisible Ink Editing welcomes submissions from any authors, and will never discriminate against writers based on their racial or ethnic background, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental abilities, or for any other reason.
Invisible Ink Editing plans to build new partnerships with some of the many excellent groups dedicated to elevating diverse voices within the editing, publishing, and literary world. We will work together with these groups to remove the barriers that have prevented authors of systemically oppressed communities from seeing their writing published.
